The House of Representatives had on Tuesday taken a resolution to invite President Muhammadu Buhari over the escalating insecurity in the country. The House was initially divided on the invitation of President Buhari. The House however, went into executive session following rising dissensions among the lawmakers on the subject matter.

Reconvening after an hour from the closed-door meeting, Hon. Ahmadu Jaha from Borno State was asked to formally move the motion for the president’s appearance. The motion was also seconded by another member of the House, and was subjected to a voice vote. It then received the overwhelming support of the House, validating the invitation. The House is however, yet to announce the time for the president’s appearance.
